An ambulance transporting a patient was flipped over on its side following an accident at the intersection of state routes 29 and 38 Friday afternoon.
No one was seriously injured in the two-vehicle crash.
According to Sgt. Todd Scales of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a grey Jetta was southbound on State Route 38. A Med-Trans private ambulance was eastbound with no sirens. The two medics inside the ambulance were transporting a patient in a non-emergency situation.
The driver of the Jetta stopped at the intersection, but failed to yield to the ambulance, colliding with the ambulance, Scales said. The force of the collision flipped the ambulance onto its passenger side.
Another ambulance arrived and transferred the patient.
The Jetta driver was Kimberly Norton, 21, of Columbus, according to the patrol. She was cited for failing to yield, a minor misdemeanor.
