Irish eyes are smiling.

And a local school wants to puts smiles on the faces of the youth of its community.

For what is now a dozen years straight, St. Patrick School of London will open its heart (and doors) for a Valentine’s Day dance.

The annual event — open to all Madison County students in sixth through eighth grades — will take place Saturday, Feb. 13 at St. Patrick School, 226 Elm St., London, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The event has grown in popularity throughout the years.

The event features music, free coat check and concessions available for purchase. There is a $6 admission price (no reentry). Commemorative photos will be taken for $3.

The dance will be chaperoned by St. Patrick School eighth grade parents as well as school administration.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the St. Patrick eighth grade class trip fund. Other fundraisers throughout the year have included working the main gate at the Madison County Fair and the sub sandwich sale.
