Drug trafficking, rape and theft suspects face magistrate

Two suspects arrested in the July 23 drug sweep appeared in the Madison County Common Pleas Court Friday.


Jamie L. Rice, 27, and Jasmine Cain, 24, both of London, were arraigned. They were ordered house arrest with random drug screenings by magistrate Lauren Kimmel.


Rice faces charges for allegedly trafficking heroine, Cain for cocaine. Rice’s case was transferred to common pleas court. She was already sentenced to house arrest in municipal court, and was ordered to continue the previous conditions.


Also in common pleas court Friday:


• Daniel E. Stanton, 25, of London, was arraigned on a $25,000 cash assurity bond for rape charges.


Stanton was charged earlier in the month for an incident on July 19. Stanton allegedly slammed the victim into a wall by the throat, threw the victim to the ground and later had sex with the victim. The victim only had sex with Stanton to avoid getting hit again, the victim told police.


• Dwayne A. Crace, 48, of Grove City, was arraigned for receiving stolen property after operating a stolen vehicle earlier in the month.


Crace and another man broke down in a maroon van Aug. 7 on Old Xenia Road in London. The responding officer realized the van was stolen.


Crace also claimed to be his brother, which the officer realized was false when looking at a picture.


Harris was arrested by another officer on suspicion of theft from his mother.


• Darrick T. Bryant, 18, of Mount Sterling, failed to appear in common pleas court.


Bryant was charged Aug. 14 with receiving stolen property.


• Timothy Livesay, 29, of Columbus, was arraigned on charges of burglary and theft. He was ordered $50,000 cash assurity bond.


Livesay was indicted Aug. 13.


• Scott C. Steinmetz, 53, of Columbus, was arraigned on charges of burglary and theft. He was ordered $50,000 cash assurity bond.


Livesay was indicted Aug. 13.


• John Burns, 29, of London, was arraigned on a theft charge. He was placed on house arrest.


Burns was indicted in March.


• Jeremy Thomas, 26, of London, was arraigned on charges of drug trafficking. Thomas was ordered $25,000 cash assurity bond.


He was indicted in July.


• Dwain Garrett, 26, of London, was arraigned on charges of drug trafficking. He was placed on house arrest.


Garrett was indicted in July.


• Sara Deaton, 19, was arraigned on charges of grand theft and telecommunications fraud.


She was placed on house arrest.


• Marcus Toles, 23, of London, was arraigned, charged with after failure to appear in court earlier this month for carrying a concealed weapon. Toles was placed on house arrest with an ankle monitor.
