The H.E.L.P. House Community Outreach will provide backpacks and school supplies for area students in kindergarten through eighth grades from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16.
Parents and guardians of children in need can register for school supplies at the H.E.L.P. House during open hours beginning the week of July 21.
The H.E.L.P. House is currently accepting donations of backpacks and the following school supplies:
• Plastic supply boxes
• Wide rule and college rule filler paper
• No. 2 pencils
• Wide rule and college rule spiral notebooks
• Zipper pouches
• Boxes of tissues
• Colored pencils
• White glue
• Glue sticks
• Washable markers (thin and wide)
• Pocket folders
• Pink erasers
• Scissors (rounded and pointed)
• Rulers (inches and centimeters
• Donated supplies and backpacks are due to the H.E.L.P. House by Wednesday, Aug. 13.
The H.E.L.P. House is also in need of volunteers to assist with set up for the back-to-school outreach event from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13 and from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, as well as assist with the distribution from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 16.

The H.E.L.P. House is also collecting back-to-school clothing for children and young adults in kindergarten through eighth grades. The clothing outreach is set for Saturday, Sept. 13.
