Community Action Organization of Delaware, Madison and Union Counties also serving Champaign, Logan and Shelby counties will be assisting households at or below 175 percent poverty level with electric payments, fans and/or air conditioners.

Assistance is available up to $350 for regulated electric utilities and $400 for unregulated electric utilities.

New this year, unregulated customers with disconnection notices can get assistance up to $400.

In addition to the income guidelines, households must meet the following criteria to be eligible for assistance:

• Have a household member who is at least 60 years of age or older

• Have health issues that are verified by a physician

• Be a customer of an unregulated electric company with a disconnection notice

PIPP Plus customers may not receive a utility payment unless the payment is past due.

The program is available through Friday, Aug. 29.
