Wednesday, Aug. 13

• An alleged burglary took place between Aug. 10 at 8 a.m. and Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. at a residence near Little Darby Road in London.

The victim reported that the property was up for sale, and currently unoccupied. The victim said the unknown suspect gained entry to the garage, but he did not know how.

The responding officer noticed one of the windows had been pried open with a small tool.

A scroll saw and stand, as well as a circular saw were allegedly stolen from the garage. Nothing else appeared to be missing.

There are no current suspects, though the report said the residence would be checked and fingerprinted.

There were no listed suspects.

Thursday, Aug. 14

• A car was reported missing about 5 p.m. at Dougherty’s Auto Sales, 9695 U.S. Route 40 in West Jefferson after a man took a car for a test drive and did not come back.

A worker at the dealership copied the suspect’s driver’s license. The dealership called the sheriff’s office after the man did not return.

Saturday, Aug. 16

• An attempted break-in allegedly took place at London Baptist Church, 1440 State Route 665, London, between Aug. 15 at 3 p.m. and Aug. 16 at 2 p.m.

The deadbolt on the door to the pantry was broken with both pieces on the ground outside.

The reporting officer said it appeared someone removed the screws, and the lock was so old that the screws broke.

A representative from the church said a new lock would be purchased.

There were no listed suspects.

Monday, Aug. 18

• Several items, including an iPhone, were taken at Pilot Travel Centers, 1365 U.S. Route 42, West Jefferson, between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m.

The victim allegedly forgot the items in the bathroom, and they were gone when she returned.

There were no listed suspects.

Thursday, Aug. 21

• Several items were allegedly taken from a London barn near State Route 38, including tin, a field cultivator and trailer tires.

The alleged theft took place between Aug. 18 at noon and Aug. 20 at 7 p.m.

The victim was concerned that the suspect used tools to disassemble items before taking them.

There were no listed suspects.

Friday, Aug. 22

• A suspect allegedly stole a utility landscape trailer from the rear of a South Solon residence near Prairie Road between Aug. 20 at 4 p.m. and Aug. 22 at 7 p.m.

There were no listed suspects.

Saturday, Aug. 23

• A semiautomatic pistol was allegedly stolen from a London residence near High Free Pike. The incident took place between Aug. 17 at 8 a.m. and Aug. 23 at 4:30 p.m.

The victim said they would contact the office after locating the serial number, make and model of the firearm.

There were no listed suspects.
