COLUMBUS — State Senator Chris Widener (R-Springfield) was presented the “Tip of the Hat” award by Wright State University President David Hopkins on Friday, Aug. 15, during the Wright State Regional Summit for his service to the community and the Dayton-region.
“I am honored to receive this award, and look forward to continuing our efforts alongside our regional partners to create jobs and forge partnerships between our employers and institution of higher education,” said Widener.
Senator Widener has been a leader in developing strategies to create jobs and attract employers to our region, said Hopkins. The senator has been at the forefront of workforce development and forging lasting partnerships between higher education and our regional employers.
The Wright State Regional Summit was held at the Wright State University Nutter Center. The event featured distinguished leaders from business, government, education, and the community. This year’s event focused on how higher education can work with community, business and government partners to develop initiatives in workforce development and globalization that will lead to a strong Ohio.
