When Madison-Plains officials voted to move from the Mid-State League to the Ohio Heritage Conference many believed it was a perfect fit for the Madison County school.
You won’t find many Golden Eagles fans complaining about the conference these days as it seems the school has found a perfect home.
The boys basketball squad found things to be much more competitive in the OHC, as the Eagles won more games this season (12) than it had in the last three years combined. A large part of that was the fact they were able to play a schedule against teams of similar size, but also because the squad was led by a collection of hard-nosed seniors.
A handful of those seniors received recognition as they were named to various all-conference teams.
Senior guard Hunter McConkey and Cameron Near were both selected to the All-OHC second team, while another pair of seniors Anthony Tesi and Jonathon Dill were picked as all-conference honorable mention selections.
The only Lady Eagles player to pick up postseason honors was sophomore Kerrigan Kelley, who was an honorable mention selection.
