COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A prosecutor says a man accused of fatally shooting his niece and wounding his nephew when he tried to “quiet them” has been indicted in central Ohio on charges including aggravated murder.
Franklin County’s prosecutor said in a release Wednesday that a grand jury in Columbus indicted 59-year-old Milous Keith on charges of aggravated murder, murder, attempted murder, felonious assault and having weapons under disability. Court records don’t list any attorney for Keith, who is in jail.
Authorities say the Columbus man fatally shot 12-year-old Cheyenne Stewart and severely injured 10-year-old ThiaJuan Green at Keith’s mother’s house on July 17.
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien says Keith had previous felony convictions and wasn’t allowed to possess the gun used to shoot his niece and nephew “when he tried to quiet them down.”
